    The record is held by Rube Marquard, who won his 1st 19 games for the New York Giants in 1912.

    Roy Face started off the 1959 season with 17 wins in a row.

    The AL record is held by Johnny Allen in 1937 and Dave McNally in 1969 with 15.

    The most wins Vida Blue started off with was 4 in 1979. His longest winning streak in his career was 10 in 1971 and again in 1978.
