Does anyone here live in a small town. after years in florida living in a very big city, i now live in a town with 200 people. and i love it.

I find that living in a small town has many advantages such as easier to remember phone numbers, getting to know local merchants personally, making friends quickly, cheaper taxes, better schools, and much more.

I moved from city life to a small village a few years ago - I loved the close community where everyone knew everyone. When my children came along I was so pleased to be living there because everyone knew who they were and where they lived. I strongly believe that our current social problems of gangs and violence is mainly due to the breakdown of close communities. Since the 1940's people move around more than ever, making anonymity in the community easier than ever before.

The place where I live is so small that if you blink it will be in your rearview mirror. That's how I like it. No one out there trying to convert me to Mormonism.

I also lived in Florida and moved to a small town (village) of 300 people in Illinois and love it. No more rat race for me.
