Roaches in apartment, lived here for a year. Maintenence has sprayed 5 times. No results. I am moving into a new house and don't want to transfer the roaches. I can't, in good faith, sell my furniture due to possible eggs. What can I do? Richmond VA

I lived in this wonderful apartment for almost 3 years, never a problem, then I got a new neighbor and they had roaches and they were bad! So of course I too got roaches!..sprayed, bombed, never fixed the problem because the asshole next to me kept his. So I moved.

Obviously I didn't want to bring them with me so what I did was I rented a storage unit (one that was an outside accessible version, not the ones where you have to go inside of a 5 story building to get your stuff) and put everything I had in that unit, then I bombed the hell out of everything. I must have put 4 bombs in there at a time and I did this for 2 days and then let it air out for a day. The next day I went and got my stuff, no more roaches, no mess to clean up.

Bomb the apartment every other day until moving day (those spray fumigators). For the furniture, consider a professional exterminator to treat them after you move the furniture out, and BEFORE you move in. Tell the exterminator exactly what your problem is, listen to his solution, ask for references, etc. If you feel they are bullsh1tt1ng you, call another one. You might want to competitive shop on price anyway.

Leave it for bulk trash pick up, roaches can be killed (barely) but the egges would be very time consuming.

Move it into the new house, and have the entire house professionally tented, with a guarantee to rid of all pests.

Treat yourself to a motel room in the meantime.
