  • I would go through it and scrub it with a cleaning product, then put it on Rinse cycle.
  • Its probably hard water build-up.. use a cleaner like Lime-Away or CLR let the cleaner work for 10 minutes before scrubbing. A new toilet brush can help scrub under the top of the tub... You may need to rinse the top 8 inches manually.. use a bucket or pitcher of water...then run it through the rinse cycle. If it is soap scum, use a product for that, but do not use the lime cleaner with the soap scum remover. Never use them together!!
  • I used a hand held scrub brush and laundry detergent. Wow, was that sucker ever dirty on the inside cylinder and agitator. Not to mention all the cat hair built up in tight places.
  • I have a phobia about chemicals. I just put plain white vinegar in the tub, just a couple of "glugs", which might be half a cup, then set it on the shortest cycle, cold water and let it run. I rarely ever use hot water for anything..... As important as running vinegar through, imho, is wiping out around that huge gasket around the door. I do that whenever I am done with the machine for that session, and I leave the door open so everything dries completely. I do the vinegar thing every few weeks. (We're a household of two, but my husband is a massage therapist, so we do laundry every day.) I use homemade detergent, (a liquid recipe,) and keep a leg of an old nylon stocking over the hose to catch all the crud before it goes down my drain. That sock has to be changed about once a week or so, it's quite gross.....but we do have two cats, so there's lots of hair. Oh, most importantly, I always run the vinegar with no clothes in the machine... I hope this helps someone. Let me know if you want the homemade detergent recipe. That stuff is great!
  • I cleaned it today with a scrubbing pad with some Shout on it.... put one large towel inside and used hot water and a little chlorine bleach to disinfect it. The plastic agitator blades were really scummy feeling and now they are smooth and clean.
