    As young as possible. My family were on skis when we could hardly toddle. You learn much faster when you are very young.

    Depending on the child 3,4,5.

    I learned how to downhil snow ski at 5, and that is around the age I plan to teach my son.

    I am a instructor (ski and snowboard) all these are good answers but the determining factor is how much time you are willing to invest, and how much patients do you have. Myself 1,2 don't think I could do it 3 yea all day long but at any age 1,2,3,4, any progress no mater how small will have huge, HUGE benefits next year
