My girlfriends labia minora protrude quite a lot from the majora and are dark purple in color. Is this normal? She has children and didn't really notice it until recently.

It's quite normal. They have evolved to slide over the surface of the glans penis as it enters the vagina. This makes it less likely that the foreskin can remain unretracted after entry. Some women have labia minora that point outwards quite a long way and tighten around the opening when they are aroused and/or just as the penis makes initial contact with the vulva.

when a girl is vergin, she does not have labia minor at all, labia minor is only caused from streaching or the vagiana (sex or anything stuck up there ) the larger the object the more it streches. labia minor is loose skin that will not tighten back, it can be removed by sergery but thats the only way, the reason why this loose streched out labia minor occurs is to let anyone looking at them know tthat they are not a vergin or that they have stuck an object in tthere, haveing a baby streches it out alot also, labia minor is ugly because men want tight young strong vergins,

all women have both sets of labia, all the time. Not though, until puberty do the inner lips become more visible. now, all vulvas look different. Some lips hang down further than others. Some are more puffy, some thinner. They are as different as penises are to each other, or breasts. Shapes and sizes vary. After giving birth, the whole vulva can look darker in colour, a deeper red or even purple or burgundy. Or just a part of it. Your girlfriend is quite normal, with beautiful, full labia. :)
