I am sort of in the same boat as you. I have always brushed my teeth however. Recently (past year or so) I have only brushed once a day due to lack of time in the morning. However my dentist said that my mouth makes more saliva than usual. This isn't bad though. He said it rinses the teeth constantly. I also recommend chewing gum.

I didn't take care of my teeth when I was young. Now I have a lot of dental problems. Trust me it will catch up with you.

I think that's just, luck, yes, I think it depends on the person. The person I know with the most fastidious dental care has problems, and in their case they have been very careful since 3 years old. I think it just happens that way sometimes. Think of poor people with bad teeth - it's most of the time NOT that they have no self respect or grooming, but that when a big problem occurs there is no money to pay a dentist to look at it. Those big problems occur in people who care for their smiles and in those who don't.
