A green leaf on the tooth sounds silly but it is a help so i am imformed.
    Clove.

Go to the dentist, that is the only sure way of having the pain permanently taken care of.

Cloves and clove oil are very good for toothache, they are a natural anaesthetic.

Well, it's either that word you've forbidden us to say, or the method Tom Hanks took in Castaway.

So. Go get yourself a rusty old ice skate, no anesthetic, some scraps of cloth, a rock, and prepare yourself for a hell of a lot of pain.

It depends what the problem is. There are products on the market for tooth aches but I never found them to be very effective. I'd go to a dentist for professional advice and treatment. There is probably an underlying reason for the ache itself. Using Oragel or something similar will just treat the symptoms (pain) not the cause.

I've always found swilling Whiskey around the painful area works well for a few hours (swallowing it isn't necessary but also an option!)

Until you can get to the dentist, you can use Clove oil. You can get it at any health food store, it works very well. It does burn a bit at 1st, but takes the pain away. Also you can get Grapefruit seed extract also at a health store, it is a mild natural antibiotic. Mix a few drops in warm water ans swish it around in your mouth then spit out. But it is important you find a dentist as soon as possible to have your tooth checked, it could be infected.

What I do is I just sleep it away.

But if that doesn't help, I go to the dentist.

Clove oil is supposed to be good, but the tooth obviously needs treated so as soon as the dentist is open i would get down there... is there not a relief of dental pain clinic you can call?

If an aching tooth has been filled recently,
you will probably be about to go back to your dentist.
    But try this first:
Brush the aching tooth with toothpaste,
and repeat the process day and night if necessary.
This worked for me a few months ago,
even though the toothache was severe,
and lasted for about 12 hours.
Each time I brushed the tooth, it quietened down a bit.
    Eventually it stopped aching completely.

Sorry, but the answer you don't want to hear is the only correct answer. Happened to me a couple times, it's better to get it taken care of now before you wind up on antibiotics before anything can be done by the dentist.

If you leave it, it may well cause such a severe infection that may prove fatal, so obviously the dentist is your best bet apart from very painfully tying a rope to your tooth and a 10 ton truck and letting it drive off :o)

  • How about dental surgeon? Does that work better for you?

Or you could go to a herbalist, if you like to gamble with your health.

clove oil, painkillers always work. Swishing warm salt water, whiskey/rum.
Or, if your teeth are sensitive, you would brush em with a sensitive tooth paste.
If its hurting for no reason, you might want to get it checked out. Or you could just wait it out and hope it goes away. But if the pain isnt going away or you notice chances to your gums or tooth, you should get it checked. If you've had a cavity on that tooth in the past, you may need to get a root cannel. If it gets way too painful, go to a dentist which accepts emergencies. they will most likely prescribe you a painkiller.
