I read that there are traces of cocaine and feces on every bill

Yes you are. Treat it as you would a public ''doorknob'' or something similar.

Money is riddled with bacteria and any other nasty or not so nasty germ around. If you have been handling money during the day look at your hands - they get very dirty. So dirty money is not just a euphemisim anymore.
-
That's why pocket hand sanitizer is so nice. :)
-
It's very dirty, and there is a minimal risk. Most viruses and bacteria cannot live for very long in the type of environment money normally resides. But to be safe, you should give all of your money to me. I'll launder it for you.
-
There should be some bacteria, but we just need to wash our hands regularly.
-
Unfortunately, there is a high percentage of spores and parasites found on money. However, as stated before, there is no need to sterilize every dollar you come across. As long as you follow proper hand washing techniques, there should not be anything to worry about.
-
There are lots of bacteria on bank notes, I am starting a new public service, if you are worried about risking your health or endangering the health of others, please let me take the risk. I will take all of your money and risk the infections myself.....contact me for my address if you are interested in this service. There is no charge!! :-)

Money does harbor bacteria, however, there is a low risk of contracting any disease unless you actually try to eat a dollar bill!
-
Actually copper, nickel and silver help to inhibit bacterial growth, therefore coins are far less likely to carry numerous bacterial colonies.
-
Yes, money harbors bacteria, but you shouldn't worry about it unless you have a compromised immune system. Just imagine how many bacteria are on your computer keyboard!
-
to add to this conversation just a bit. Copper and nickel both inhibit bacterial growth. There is far less bacteria on coins than on everyday common objects.
-
Yup :) money is one of the filthiest things you can touch!
-
Yes, but I have a solution. Out of s sense of deep social responsibility, a desire to save lives, and a sacrificial spirit, I am inviting all Americans to send me their cash and I will take the risk for them. There was a time when I would not make such a magnanomous offer. But hey, what are neighbors for? :)
