Microsoft is working to acquire Yahoo, in a bid to counter the dominance of Google. Hypothetical question: If Google decides to acquire Answerbag, would that be good or bad for our beloved website? Why or why not?

I think it would be a bad thing. The adverts would double/triple in size, the number of idiots using the site would increase exponentially and no doubt the google developers would mess with this site completely, maybe even integrating it into their search engine so that when you ask a question it is automatically searched on google first.

It would be good as long as they let all of us wonderful people stay with them and let Answerbag stay the same and did not do any dramatic changes to ruin what we have now!!

I think it would be a BIG backward step, I could see heaps of add's and they would be able to help them selves they would change AB for the worse and it WOULD end up just like yahoo has ...screwed

We would get even more of the Yahoo trolls. If AB was willing to hire more staff and/or CL's it would be OK but the current staff/CL's would not be able to handle the influx.
