Human, however since I had no say in the matter, it is not something I can be justifiably 'proud' of, though I am certainly quite glad that it is the case. Anyway, there are no races within humanity; we are a single species.

Race? Human, I think. Ethnicity? Rromani... 3/4 blooded. I see folks with Native American in their ancestry stating their Nations. I know my mother's (and probably paternal grandmother's) Clan but am not comfy putting that on the 'net. Folks have been trying to kill us off for so long (Hitler almost did it) that the fact that we exist and have our culture and language intact is something to take pride in. My 1/4 Gadje is standard issue Romanian white. (Romania is a country, Rromani is an ethnicity... they are not related). Originally my Gadje side came from Poland but that was a long time ago. I do not really identify with my Gadje side so I am neither proud nor ashamed but I do know that my Gadje grandfather was a really good guy.

When I was a kid (about 50 years ago), Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid were the only racial (biological) distinctions available. However, since more modern research has shown the all humanoid species originated in the Rift Valley of south central Africa and from there were dispersed throughout the world, even these distinctions have become moot. There are no pure "races" anymore. If you are interested in my ethnicity (cultural) background, I'm proud to say I am 100% Texan-American with a family history reaching back to our original landing in Maryland in 1634 from Portsmouth, England. Our family name can then be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1066, in which our Saxon/German origination was noted. So, what am I, racially? I don't have the slightest idea. Am I proud of that fact? Of course I am!
