  • Has she been living with you since she was a newborn? If not, maybe she has had a bad experience with hard slippery floors, like those in a shelter. If that's not the case, perhaps she just doesn't recognize that the laminate floors are OK to walk on and she needs lot's of time and understanding until she feels safe walking on it. Maybe she just doesn't like it, for whatever reason. I had a male schnauzer who disliked grass. He would go out of his way to keep from walking on it, including doing his business! He would finally give in and do his deed on the grass then practically tip-toe out of it..LOL! I called him my "concrete dog"....LOL! Don't force her to walk on the laminate floors, but try to encourage her to be with you while your sitting on the floor. That would be very reassuring for her. Good luck!
  • Is this flooring new? Or has this been going on since you got your dog? Have you tried getting her to go in and get her fave toy. Or thrown a good treat, just far enough away from her onto the floor, so she'll go in after it? I agree don't force her, but you can gently coax her with praise, treat & toys. If this doesn't work, maybe you should consult a good trainer/dog behaviourist.
