Jimmey Stewart rode a sorrel horse for over twenty years, i think the horse belonged to MGM, jimmey stewart rode this horse right until the horse was retired and on jim's saddle he had a small bell around the saddle horn, what was the horses name?

The horse' name was Pie.

he was owned by a little girl by the name of Stevie Myers, who is the daughter of an old wrangler who used to wrangle horses for Tom Mix and W.S. Hart. He retired and he gave this horse to her.

- thank you for posting, you do know what horse iam reffering to? the horse was in some of jimmy stewarts movies. he was talking about it on the tonite show some years ago and i always remembered that story, whe own horses as well

Yes it was Pie and the movie was the Far Country. The bell was only in that one movie. It's a great scene when you hear the bell at night in town and the bad guys are expecting it to be Stewart, and the horse just saunters down the road and stops right at the hitching rail. Stewart said they never trained the horse to do that, just whispered in his ear what to do and he did it because he loved acting himself LOL!!! When the horse died, he had him buried on his own ranch. That horse was in 17 movies with Stewart.

Pie was that the name of the horse? How old was it? did you know about the bell on Jim's saddle?
