No...Some people are actually trying to be nice...Hard to believe huh?
-
What a great question! :::wink::: points to you! :::wink:::
-
i dont even keep track of the points thing. i actually mean n i think other ppl mean it too.
-
i have found on here and i am very new that people do try to take the time to be nice to each other-it is a change from most sites and one that i welcome-hope you find it the same----good question-smile and enjoy the night
-
a lot of the people that are on in the mornings would tell you they are not on this site for the points. you have just asked a very good question.do you honestly believe the points are of no importance?
-
some may do this ...but most are genuine and really mean what they say and I think its a great way to say well done to friends :)
-
The points thing is just a coincidence.
-
I believe most are.
-
Some are, but others are truly trying to be nice.
-
I dont pretend to be nice and give points. if the answer is what really I was looking for and in depth I congratulate them. but wont do it for the sake of it.
-
It certainly has turned into a point maker, but I believe that the intent was simply to shine, for a moment, the limelight, on a bagger who has been moving up. The opposite is to ignore someone else accomplishments.
-
Not really. They're doing it to vent personal frustrations in their own life over the internet.

I'm doing it to vent personal frustration in my own life over teh intenets.
-
When you think of it, maybe...sometimes they just try to do it to be nice but I think the "congratulating business" has turned into a profit making business.
-
I congratulate people that I know. I want to wish them the best for their big day of getting a new title. I am sure most of them appreciate this, even if *they* usually don't get many points there. I usually only congratulate people reaching the title Sage or higher. It is also a possibility to get some cheap points, I admit. There are also much more people reaching those levels than in the past. Cheaps points are not so bad from time to time, some other points are really expensive!
-
I don't think so. At all. I hope not :)
-
Sincere, for the points, to laud someone, who knows? But more importantly, so what? I'd rather have those congrats questions than questions that border on whining.
-
I have always said I wish they would do away with the points for those questions. The majority do it for one reason....we are happy for them and remember how happy we were when we leveled up.
-
There are some who do it just for the points such a question will generate. However many of us ask those sort of questions to give recognition to our AB friends for accomplishments both on and off of AB.
-
Some for each reason. It is worth it to allow for the former reason, in spite of the latter.

People don't actually get money or anything that has to come out of somebody else's pocket, so who cares why they do it. If somebody wanted points and I could give them, I would. It's a lot easier than giving money (especially at my pay rate).
