Well their is two possiblities I can think of. There may be more but these tend to be the top two from what I know of.
1. It is possible that he is still hot for her or hasn't gotten over her and needs to still have her in his life even though its not sexual
2. Its possible that they are just really good friends. Its not uncommon for people to date and to realize that they are just better as friends and not as a more.
In the long run its really up to you. There is nothing wrong with establishing boundries for yourself. These are things that you cannot tolerate in a partner. If it makes you unhappy and he continues to see her then leave him. Its harsh but unless your married or have a child its really about what you want. If what you want and what he wants isnt' the same when it comes to your boundries then how can it ever work in the long run.
