  • Owens originally agreed to a seven-year, $49 million dollar deal just one year prior to imploding and demanding a "renegotiation". This was due to the corruption and greed of Drew Rosenhaus AND Terrell Owens both. Owens lost $2.5 million in salary and bonus money the 2nd year of his contract due to a 4 game suspension without pay... also a $7.5 million roster bonus that was payable in March of 2006. So he basically received less than 10 million of his 49 million, and ultimately lost the rest (from the Eagles anyways) much of it was recouped when he signed with the ethically-challenged Cowboys who had no problem dealing with a head case (or so they thought until this year). He had a great 2007 season and is having a crappy 2008 season, not worth a rookie's pay. He also lost all credibility in true football fan's eyes.
