It definitely enhances the immune system, with silver as the active ingredient; a neutralizer of bacteria and infections. Quite safe to take. A good idea to keep on hand and take at signs of weakness. Similar to oregano oil.

Ionic silver - angstrom .is what she is most likely talking about. It doesn't turn you blue . The particles are smaller than a blood cell. That is a completely different thing that would turn you blue. You know how they talked about the "blue bloods" they called them that because of the bluish tone they had from eating off of silverware, and I believe they got large silver particles from some other things too, cannot remember. Colloidal silver is great when used in moderation, but like all things, it is possible to over do it (remember the blue guy? I've used C.S. for years, found it very helpful for a number of ailments (works really well on eye infections, and doesn't sting a bit!). It comes in different strengths. Also some companies use larger particles of silver than others (the smaller the particles the better). If you aren't getting good results, that could be part of the problem. It's best to do your research and go with a well established company. Because it's a good antibiotic, it's also best not to take it long term orally, because of its tendency to kill beneficial bacteria as well as the bad ones (but I could say the same for goldenseal as well). Do not allow it to get too hot or get contaminated because it could settle out of solution (stick to the side of the glass, etc.) I've had that happen.
