ALL HE HAS TO CALL IS THE POCKET...

You can never use the eight in a combo or otherwise, straight in on its own, don't matter what you are playing.

In most rules as long as the 8 ball goes in the pocket you call thats game win,as long as you hit the 8 ball 1st

That depends entirely on where you are playing. Most bar players will wring your neck if you try that. In the average bar, the 8 has to go in without touching anything, with the exception of the short rail (grazing the cushion on the way in). If you're in a tournament (yes, there are 8-ball tourneys) it won't matter, as long as you hit the 8 first. It can go all the way around the table, hit every ball, once off the light fixture (since it traditionally is considered part of the table) and score a win if it goes in the called pocket. 8-ball is a highly regionalized game. The rules vary greatly from one place to another.

It's a regional thing. In my area you can do whatever you want with the 8-ball, so long as you call every single carom and bank. "call shot" is what we call that. For tournaments, we use "call pocket" for the 8-ball, per the ABA rules. And that liberalization is countered by the rule that a ball must be pockets or driven to a rail, and with the ball-in-hand rule.

In most bars, no. In most tournaments in pool rooms you need only to call the pocket. Many bar players, who are inferior to room players, will block the pockets with their balls just so you have nowhere to put the 8 ball. Ticks them off when all they get to do is rack the balls!
