Possible negative stereotypes faced by parties in a WM/BF relationship might be, "He's only involved with her because he objectifies black women as exotic sex partners," or "She's probably with that white guy because black men can't make a commitment."

Not nearly as many as a black man dating a white woman would. Black women dating white men are more accepted by the white community more so than a black man dating a white woman. We as black women criticize our black men for being with white women and the white woman is not nearly as welcome with our black men. If he brings her home to his family, if they are closed-minded, they will have a problem. If the white man brings home a black woman, unless the family is flat out racist, the problem might not be as bad, easier to work through. Black women with white men are just more accepted by "white" society.

You probably will get support from other black women! They don't seem to like white women taking away a black man. Any other problems may come from people's discomfort and fear and perhaps curiosity. My cousin is dating a women of color and my uncle just couldn't resist making a snide remark.

white men dont like black women this white guy told me that dark skinned black women are ugly light skinned black women are pretty i think black women should stay with black men i would never have a white man i love my black brothers any black women that would date or marry a white man is crazy that's what wrong with the world now listen at malcolm x the white man ain't shit

- Most black people wouldn't be here if it weren't for marrying/having sex with whites (and yes, admittedly, some historical slavery based situations include rape). There's nothing wrong with dating outside of your race as long as it's for love and not about race. Also, Malcolm X changed his views closer to the end of his life. Extreamist killed him. Malcom X attempted to correct his "mistakes". Everyone is equal. Love who you love. Be friends with who you want to be. Race should not play the determining factor in whether someone is worth your time.

- As to why some women tend to date outside of their race more: Many black women I've met had better luck with men outside of their race. They were attractive/intelligent/friendly but many black man would tell them how they weren't "black enough". Also, people tend be around people in the same finanical situaitons because of jobs or the areas they live in & people who date outside of their race tend to be more well traveled, openminded, or professional.When you give notice to these factors and then add statisics of the lack of minorities who are presented with opportunities...there's a good chance that many of their romantic partners will be white or of a different race.
