Mormons complain that others "bash" their Church. Then why isn't it "bashing" other churches when a Mormon tells an investigator that God told Joseph Smith that ALL other Churches are wrong and that the LDS Church is ONLY true Church?

How many times do you think LDS missionaries are asked to visit somebody before they stop visiting them? (Assuming the visitee wants no talks to take place)

i see what you are saying, but i think the lack of outside influence is supposed to allow them to become more spiritual and connected with god... or something like that.

It would be helpful if you knew where of you wrote before you wrote. They can read letters from home on any day of the week and the day on which they do their chores is Monday, not Thursday.

wait... monday is always their default chore day?! weird. i don't see the point in designating a day, so long as it is done once a week (and not on sunday, obviously). that's me though.

Glenn, that is not quite true. Preparation day is not the say day for all the missionaries. In my mission, it switched from thursday to wednesday. My buddies p-day was on Monday. If you look at the MTC, everyone has a different p-day. And you can do stuff for yourself other days, but they ask it to be limited and to try and get all the stuff done you need to get done on the designated day. And you are never officially cut off from the world. Just walking down the street or riding on the bus you hear all about the world. So they do know what is going on in the world, missionaries are usually encouraged to know what is going on in their surroundings.

i don't know about that last sentence. i could argue either side.

On my mission they really wanted us to know what was going on politically and everything like that but just not to get involved. Just so we didn't say something stupid and then have the people after us.
