Every so often we have wine and cheese nights at 5 in my office, where we get food, wine, beer and other appetizers (like shrimp and stuff). During staff appreciation week we get breakfasts lunches, and Cold Stone Ice cream caters for a day so we can eat ice cream all day. It was f*cking awesome. I also sometimes get movie tickets and anything related to my building I work in (30 Rock in NYC) we get discounted like Radio City Music hall, NBC studios stuff, ice skating, Broadway shows, and tapings of Saturday Night Live, Conan OBrien and 30 Rock.

  • Yep. I work nights (not waking,) and the pay was kept the same as the day pay in case I had to get up. I very rarely have to, so while I'm sleeping I'm earning day wages, also, when I go to a meeting during the day I get paid overtime at time and a half. Life is hard.
  • At my last job, all I got was benefits. I managed the karate school where my daughter took classes. I didn't get paid with money, but she didn't pay for anything there...classes, equipment, testings, etc. Also the owner/chief instructor was always taking us out to eat and when we went out of town for tournaments, it was all expenses paid. It was the best job I have ever had and I loved it...he is a great guy too. He closed it down and opened a school in his home town, he has asked me to manage that one (my daughter still attends and instructs there) and I am seriously considering it. I may even teach Tai Chi classes..ha ha..imagine that!
