I have a mazda 626 1999 model. runs good but when u stop and let it idle, it idles real low rpm is is low. it acts like it wants to die.

You should be able to adjust it at the carb/intake with a setscrew which is present there. My vehicles run generally around 750 rum at idle

Check the fuel pressure. This same thing had been occurring on my 1999 4 cylinder 626 for quite a while. When the care refused to start one day a tow to the mechanic revealed a failed fuel pump. After replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter the car runs great and idles smoothly. I'm not positive that this is your problem but it did resolve my rough/low idle albeit at a pretty high cost. ($600 - $800) good luck!

Sometimes cleaning of air intake system are helpful in that case.
