I have a 97 Grand Am. It ran fine when I put it in garage. Now I went to start it up and it starts for 2 seconds then dies, i tried full throttle, 1/2 throttle, start fluid and cant get it to stay on. New fuel filter and clean plugs- no change.

It could be a security problem. Try to start and leave the key in the run position. Is the security light flashing? If it is and keeps flashing for longer than 10 seconds leave the key in the run position until the light stops flashing and stays on solid. (about 10 minutes) Then turn the key off and start.
