Help answer this question below.

Who thinks the laws on animal cruelty are too lenient? I do. I think people should get mandatory jail sentences of at minimum of 6 months. This fine stuff is bull.

    This issue could even go a step further. The animals that we are eating are living under extreme and cruel conditions bordering on torture.These companies should bear a strict sentencing as well.Chickens are having beaks cut off,and living in cages where they can't stand up,cattle that live in horrific conditions,etc.

    There are many instances in which punishment should be stricter, the problem is that we do not seem to have enough jails to carry out these sentences.

    i full agree wid u on dat on, der proberly aint enuff jails for these foools to be put into.. how bou we jail these people on ships on water for life :)

    The penalties are so unequal, it's not right. In California, one man is sentenced to 25 years to life (as a third strike felony)for killing a dog, and yet two 18-year-old men who killed or injured over a dozen animals in rural Lincoln during drive-by shootings last fall were sentenced Friday - one to 270 days in jail and the other to a suspended prison term of six years and eight months.
