Going to a fund raiser at a Firehouse and many of husband's co-workers will be there. All you can eat wings and beverages. Husband thinks I should have beer but I am afraid that I may slip something embarrassing out of my mouth. What should I do?

Obviously it is an issue for you, and a significant one, or you wouldn't be asking.

So the easy, graceful, total solution is to just not have a beer.
There is a tiny bit of worry there. So don't have one and that's that!
Smile and enjoy the day with no worries at all.

To keep it clear and unchallenging for yourself, get a glass of apple juice or soda and keep it in your hand the whole time. Anyone offering you a beer will see that you have plenty to drink already.

Do exactly what YOU want to do.

It would be worse if you slipped something embarassing into your mouth.

Don't drink beer. Or, tell your husband to quit doing things that may embarass him so you won't have to worry about slipping. Either way, bring a large cloth napkin as those wings can get awfully messy. That, or wear a reddish dress.

If you don't feel comfortable then don't drink. But one beer doesn't usually get someone that drunk that they lose control.

You need to do what you are comfortable doing.
If you want to get a beer and have a few sips then switch to another beverage, do so.
If you just don't want beer at all, then don't drink it.
It's your decision, not your husband's?

One beer does not a motormouth make. That should shut hubby up too. Then you can drink sodas or water for the rest of the day.

Glad you had a good time. It's too bad I hadn't answered in time I would have told you to go and have a good time. If anything went wrong it would be on him for insisting you go.

Okay everyone, here is the deal. Started out the night with one mixed drink... Capt. Morgan's rum with Ginger ale, not bad. The chicken wings were excellent and so were the french fries and onion rings. Had some beer, when I finished one, my hubby's co-worker would fill up my cup again. The co-workers went down to the bar several times for mixed drinks. I just kept eating the delicious french fries with cheese sauce. Of course I said some things that embarrassed my husband, like the fact that he used to have nipple piercings. One gal reached over and tweeked on his chest through his shirt. I never got sloppy or slipped up because I had eaten so much food I couldn't even finish the 3rd beer after the first sip. I hate wasting beer but I didn't pour it.
