You operate a train switch. There is a Y intersection and you must choose. If you send the train down one leg It will kill your brother. if you send it down the other it will kill 5 people you do not know. What do you do?

Leave the switch in the position it's already in. There is a difference between murder and allowing someone to die. No sense arguing with fate.

Kill the 5 people, much rather do that than to kill my brother.

that's tough....but in the end, i guess i would kill my brother b/c i know that he would want me to save the 5 people instead of him due to the fact that those 5 people all had families that would be affected. not to say that ours wouldn't be, but we would remember him as being a hero taking his own life to save several others.

jam the switch halfway & de-rail the train, better odds for everyone unless the train rolls & kills everyone but that may happen anyway
