Good idea, as you make clear, you'd perhaps be happier with something that agrees with you. It's worth bearing in mind that Buddhism is about reality rather than platitudes, or what we think suits us. It's not really something that you can make up as you go along, or that one can read a few books about and suddenly pretend that they're an expert in, as Buddhism teaches from the standpoint of reality, not opinion and therefore is fairly unanimous in it's pointing to reality. Whereas with belief, reality is not much of an issue and one can attempt to avoid it when it doesn't suit.
Buddhism isn't after all for everyone, nor should it pretend to be in order to indulge individual whim. Buddhism ain't about belief in other words. It's not a club you join by believing the 'right thing', or by reading about and then parrotting half understood text. Unfortunately far too many see a few episodes of Kung Fu and think that that's what Buddhism is really like. So when they encounter the real thing, it comes as something of a shock and they usually fling up their hands and wail at the horror of the fact that Buddhism doesn't agree with their particular opinion or belief de jour. However, that's something of a digression. To put it simply, since by your own admission you're looking for belief Anonymous, (or KJ or Hvid or whoever you are at the moment) rather than reality - why not make up your own religion?
Judaism is pretty fun. Lots of drinking involved.
I think you are probably looking for a western religion. Enjoy and may path be illuminated by the light of your heart.
Buddhism is based around the concept of peace, in Buddhisms case any war that arises over it is not down to the religion its down to the people. Through out all of time people have killed each other its human nature, if it were not religion it would be land, or resources or pride. I would say in Buddhisms case it saves more lives than the people claiming it as a justification for their wrong doings end. By lives i'm including all lives baring in mind most Buddhists are vegetarians.
Most old religions contain unbearable orthodoxy for men
of rationality.
Modern movements like Hare Rama and Hare Krishna are
adopted for westerners for ease of practice.

If everyone reached enlightenment and were no longer reborn like in the buddhist faith wouldn't the world cease to exist

You're reading Sorry - having the idea of dividing the buddhist category into several categories was a fundemental mistake. I think I´ll join a theist religion - it´s more peaceful than buddhism has shown itself to be lately. Any good theist religions I can join?
