It depends on the person who initiates the break up. Like for example if he/she acts distant or don't talk to you no more or don't want ncontact with you. Is better if you ask him/her to get an honest answer. Good Luck!

The cracks begin to widen. if he is the kind of kind that never takes ownership of a problem then: He will begin treating you like dirt so that you will initiate the breakup - then he can maintain his "good guy" self-talk because the 'chick-dog' left him.

i think you should predict it (for yourself) when bullying or violence starts and you can feel resentment. Get the hell out of there if you really can't save your relationship

In all honesty, that is hard to answer because, everyone acts different when they feel sad or confused in a relationship. Just because someone seems distant does not mean they wish to break up with you. Usually the break up will happen when you least expect it. The signs can be vague or in your face..no way to know.
