growth i usually think of size whereas development i see as increase in complexity child development for example - you see it mature, become more physically strong and able. but child growth - you observe weight gain, height increase...etc etc

Growth is an increase in physical size e.g. whight, mass, hight...etc. Development is an increase skills, abilities and emotions. e.g.fine moter skills and gross moter skills.
