    Nothing in life is free. You can however, try Virgin. Here in Canada, you can pick up one of their phones at many locations, drug stores, Chapters Books etc. You pay for the phone and whatever # of minutes you want to use. When the minutes run out, you can recharge it via your bank acct without a credit card. There are no contracts to sign.
