yes, i mean it depends on what exactly made them a hardened criminal, if they happen to be diagnosed with some kind of mental disorder, then they may not be capable of acts of goodness. however, i do not think that people can be ALL bad.

Yes, I do. I am also realistic enough to realize that this possiblity or even probability does not cancel out the risk that they represent due to their other percentage of not-so-goodness. It's sad but we can't deal with the death row inmate who is wonderful in the dog fostering program at the prison like that is 100% his personality...since somewhere there is a family whose loved one he killed who would remind us to focus on the other part. I guess how I would deal with this duality is to treat an inmate with as much respect as I could while holding him accountable to the fullest extent of the law for his actions.

yes. people aren't born bad, they become bad due to circumstances that they face and even then there may be some goodness in them. most of the time they have this guilt too I guess

Yes.No man is entirely a criminal. In many cases, people blame circumstances for them changing to criminals. And they've come out of their situations in the later part of their life.
-
Yes I do. We are all born inherently good.Even a person who commits the most heinous crime can retain some goodness w/in themselves.

Yes, I do , but there are some who I feel do not. I have wrote to many people in prison , even to Charles Manson, because I am one who feels that there is good in everyone . I was locked up for two years from age 12 to 14, so I have an inside view of things a little bit . Most of the hardened criminals have been terribly abused and abandoned, that is why I am such an advocate against child abuse and neglect. I've known people who I thought would change, and they didn't. And some that society thought were beyond help proved they weren't. That is a hard question to answer with a simple yes or no .

Yes, I do. Like that Sarah Mclaughlin song, we are all born innocent...

A lot of them were good at one point, and it's just that which society took advantage of and which turned them into the criminals that they are today. I, for instance, have been kind/good to people all my life and I've only been taken advantage of. I've been pushed to my limits and now I can finally see why people murder/kill other people.
