I've got some 3-month-old goldfish fry that are about an inch long. How big should I let them grow before I put them in my main tank with their parents? Their parents are 5-6" long.

They should be fine, just make sure their are plenty of hiding places for the fry, ie. floating plant like cabomba ,hornwart or java moss,

Raise them separately from the adult fish and feed them small flakes of fish food, until they are a year old. You will need to raise them for several months until they get their adult colors, once those colors are fully gained, they are ready to be with the big goldfish.
