I wouldn't think so. You're still young. It would be much better to start a new career now as opposed to later. Much more beneficial.
-
It's never too late to start a new career. People start going to college in their 30's and 40's now, and end up getting a degree and going into something that they enjoy much more that what they were doing before.
-
its never to late to start a careeer....
-
It's never too late, even if it's something immense like becoming a doctor. Many people, even those near or at retirement choose to do something different and become very good at it. And 23 is not very old to have had a career before.
-
No it's never to late, also never limit yourself to time. You are also never to old to learn...NEVER.
-
Nope. Making choices to better your life and lifestyle should always be a concideration.
-
No, it's good that you realize you want to try a new career at that age. Why get stuck in a career you don't enjoy? Good luck!
-
nah. i knew a woman that was a teacher for 20 something years and then became a lawyer. =)
-
only if you know that you are going to die at age 24. Change your career and be happy.
-
Are you kidding? Most people of 23 are just out of college and STARTING ANY career. Now would be the time.
-
No way. I think it's a great age to start something new :)
-
No 23 is not late to start a new career. theres people in my college class that are 30+ doing accounts. so they dont think it is 2 late so you shouldnt think this.
-
It's never too late to do anything. As long as you are fanatic about your career and willing to devote to it, nothing can stop you. Go for it and good luck!
-
I hadn't even started my first career when I was 23, so no, I don't think it is too late. I'm much older than that now trying to start a new career.
-
Think of it this way, time will keep passing and you will become 33 and still not have a career and you will think "Is it too late to start now at 33?" Which it wouldn't be... but why wait?
-
It's never too late! My husband is retiring from his current job in about 6 years (he'll be around 50 then) and wants to go to med school then!
-
I started an apprenticeship when I was 28. While at school I met a couple of 40 year olds. What matters is what you want to do. You'll never earn enough money doing what you don't want to do because you simply won't put in as much effort as someone else who loves the same job. Aim for what you do want to do, regardless of age. 23 is still a young whipper-snapper.
-
I think it's far too late, you will be getting your pension in 42 years time, it will fly by. :-)
-
It's not too late until you're dead ; )
-
God I hope you are NOT serious. Most people who make all the decisions for their entire life before that Learn to regret it at least a little till they've lived a little of life. It's never too late, just think it through and weigh your options.
-
I'm 27 and still haven't started mine
-
Of course not. Go for what you enjoy and what you really wanted to do! Good luck! :)
-
Gosh no! I don't think 83 is too late to start a new career. The most important thing in life is finding something that makes you happy and gives your life some meaning. Go for it and keep trying until you find the right thing.
-
God I hope not I'm 29 and changing careers.
-
started mine at 33...then made serious changes and basically started over again at 37. 23? Too late? It's scary you even asked. Yet it's good you didn't feel compelled to stay in a career you identified as not for you...and it's good you found out this early. You have plenty of time....heck, you could have a new career for 10 more years and drop it to try another and still be all right.
-
is that a joke. you dont even finish grad school til 24/25 so why would that be too late?
-
if so i'm severly screwed
-
23 is never to late. I started my semi 4th career at the age of 34. I have way more experience from working in several careers trying to find out exactly what I wanted to do with my life and where I wanted to live. If you are not married or have kids, MOVE! The best thing I did before settling down with a wife and kids was move all around and get to know places and people and experience everything I could. It has paid off now at the age of 38. PS - Worry about RETIREMENT. Whatever you do start thinking about your far away future. I live everyday to the fullest, but I want to make sure I am all set when I retire and would like to live a better life when I have the time to spend money and travel. Hope this helps.
-
Jesus, I hope not, I'm 32 and I'm switching up
-
Age 23 is definitely not too late. Better to start a new career at that age than to wait until your in your mid 40s and your asking yourself this question again.
-
My older sister got her degree when she was 33......after 4 years of study.shes now beginning a new short course to add to it.
-
Not at all. I wish I could go back to 23 and start my career over!
-
After working an office job for 10 years I quit my job at 35 and moved to a foreign country and started a new life and new career. I was successful and an extremely happy.
-
I'm still trying to find a career as I keep starting over again or so it seems.
-
I'm 30, and havent started a "career". Dont be freaked out that you dont really know what you want to do with your life...as someone said, its not too late til your dead.
-
Oh my God. Of course not!!!!!! At 23 some people are barely out of college! If you'd said 93, that'd be a different story, but at 23 you're still an itty bitty baby! At 23 you still have your whole life ahead of you....hey, I went back to grad school at 27 and I'm actually one of the younger people in the program! At 23 your life is just begining!
-
Don't be silly , I was a postman and now I dress up as Ronald Macdonald and hand out leaflets in our local mall. It's never too late to broaden your horizons.

-
lol...HVA, I'm 25 and only started my career...you're stilll very young!
-
No. Not at all.
-
I haven't read all of the other answers. So, if I am being redundant, then I apologize. Anyway, if you think about 23 is the age at which most college students would just be STARTING their careers. So, how than this be too late?
-
NO.... you will have a couple of more careers in your future after you start this one. Gone are the days that you go to work at GE or GM as an engineer and stay there for 30 years...
-
Dont be silly, you are very young
-
What, I'am 32 in college right now. I have an atvantage over some of the other students and that is I'am not partakiing in adolecent behavior. I have some money my own cabin on titled land and I have no baggage coming into college, while gettting the skills I need to start my new career. So no you have an atvanage in many ways, the other students are fresh from high school but within a month you will be right back into the fold. alll the best and keep your eye on the prize
-
No way! I am 30, I made a huge move 2 years ago. I was a Police men. I am now an Engineer. I am very happy. My father at age 58 was a Machinist who got laid off. He now is a Sports Bar/Club Manager. Make the change if it makes you happy!
-
If you're planning a career in tennis or boxing, it maybe a little late. But for most careers, it's never too late.
-
No. Go for it.
-
Heck no!! And you might have another career or two after this one! Life is full of change. Anthony Burgess, who wrote A Clockwork Orange, published his first novel at 39. Annie Proulx, author of Brokeback Mountain, started writing in her 50s. Hey, maybe there's hope for me after all!!
-
is that 2 suppose to be a 5
-
oops how did you say like that , i am 23 years old now and don't have any job :)
-
Don't think so!You can always try other stuff.
-
It's never to late.
-
No. At this age, most people are starting jobs. But, you can switch jobs whatever age you want to. 23 is defintly not to late.
-
You have so many opportunities at this age. Hopefully you have college, but if not, make it a point to take some college classes, even if to make you knowledgeable in an area of interest you might not otherwise have. Keep your "record" clean...don't get into awful debt or any "messes" since decent employers "red flag" such stuff. Have you done a Myers-Briggs assessment? It asks MANY questions that determine what occupation you may be better suited to. I have heard that nurse friends for example who have gone thru all of the training find that after maybe a year or more that they really weren't "cut out" for it and switched careers. Not just nurses but any occupation. What do you love? What would you hate to see yourself doing? And expect that even after some time you may want to switch careers again due to where you are in your life...married, kids, etc. I personally chose a huge company w/ great health/dental benefits and with some fun perks, too! Think big. Don't settle too soon. Move to a part of the country you think you would enjoy. Get yourself where you want to be, be selfish about things because you can, and in time, you might meet and marry (if you choose) and know that you have made yourself the best you can be! The future is yours! (this is a great time in your life!)
-
It's never too late. It's too late when you're dead.
-
The visit was useful. Content was really very informative. From giftwithlove
-
Absolutely - your stuck in the dead end job you picked when you left high school. How do I know this - because of your STUPID question.
-
I haven't even started my first one.
-
I didn't finish my education until I was 27. Some people don't leave Med School until late 20-early 30's. You have a long way to go before you are even on time let alone late.
-
I hope not! I'm 23 and not done with school yet!
-
Twenty-three? Heck no...in fact it's never too late.
-
not at all!
-
I just started a new career at the age of 40...so no! It's never too late.
-
Of course not!!! Most people don't even finish college by the age of 23, LOL! Then you have those folks who retire, THEN go back to college (I have a lot of respect for them). So no, 23 is DEFINITELY not too late! :)
-
Definitely not. On average people now have about 7 different careers in their lifetime.
-
Find something your are passionate about and go for it. I started new jobs in different areas at 22, 23, 25, 27, and it took a while but now i am doing what i love. Do not limit yourself, you are young.
-
No! your never to old to start a new career.

-

-
Are you joking? You are only 23! It's a perfect age to start thinking about what you want to do. You are only young, the whole world is your oyster. Be excited, whatever you decide to do now will set you up for when you are 30 (which is a great age to be). Honestly, you are in your prime. Be excited about what you can achieve, and do whatever you want to do, because you can do anything! Too old indeed... you have your whole life ahead of you. Good luck! :)
-
Don't know what country you live in but the average American changes careers, not jobs, careers 3 times in their lifetime. Go for it!
-
Hardly, my bf is going to college this fall and is 23. He hasn't started his career yet so it's certainly not too late to change.
-
Of course not! There are some companies which requires applicants within their early twenties. Often times, employers see age as experience that can give them an edge in job hunting.
-
of course not.. it is not yet too late for you my friend.. if you have gots and will in your life you determine to search for your greatest career ever.. have faith and the savior will do the rest... ^^
-
I was an accountant until age 35, became a counselor then a social worker, began writing at 50 and now run a private practice in social work with a doctor and psychologist on staff. My father was a construction worker, became an engineer in his late 30's, started a manufacturing business in his late 40's, and created a cattle ranch from bare land at 65. You can do anything you want to. Keep learning. Keep active and go with your strengths.
-
Well not actually...it is still considered as early...in my country most people start their career in their 25 or so....
-
No, 80 is to late to start a new career.
-
Not at all. I'm 22 and I just started working at AT&T Wireless, which is one of those jobs that starts as a job and can end up as a career. AT&T isn't going anywhere fast (as far as disappearing), and they hire management from within the company. After 6 months you can join the leader internship program, and immediately afterwards you can become a manager.
-
yes, for you..sorry
-
Most people begin at 23 - 25 after graduation. Some may be earlier and some later. Beginning of something new can be at anytime in a lifetime as long as you have the interest and desire to change carrier several times for the better however please be in mind that rolling stone does not stick mud as you may loose out in seniority.
-
Either your asking a ridiculous question on purpose, or yes, it's too late for you to start a new career. Although people in their 50's can start a new career. You've proved you're not qualified........next!
-
Its never too late to start a new career. Just think, everyday you learn something new, if you live to be 102, at age 23 youve only acquired about 1/4 of the knowledge you will have by the time you die. So stay determined, never give up and never stop learning.
-
i did it at 25...
-
Oh Christ yes. What were you thinking, at 23 you've about reached your i'mtoooldtoodoanythingelseability and need to start thinking about the ways of tomorrow. Way's are way closer at 23 than at , lets say, 12, so starting to think about them now, will be way better. Don't fret, but don't dalley, time is a waisten on the ways that might be in the ways of this 23 year old wayward ager....getthehellupandosomethingaboutitation, may result if you dont. GO NOW...A WAY
-
Being late to start a new career is not the issue at the age of 23. What matters is that you can prove to anyone that you are capable and will strive hard to be successful on your chosen career path.
-
it's the best time to start a new career.. and its never to late to start a new one.. you are just starting to live your life!! So make the most of it.. get a job that makes you happy, dont settle for second best!
-
It's never too late yet..you still have a lot of chance to start a career.
