My Samsung DVD-Rom drive doesn't recognize DVDs but it's fine with CDs. How can I fix this non-region-related problem?

    Hi, First try to clean the laser lense using some electronics cleaner and wipe it with a piece of tissue (NOTE: DO NOT APPLY A LOT OF PRESSURE ON THE LENSE). If it does not help try to open the DVD and adjust the laser lense voltage. You should find 2 small presets on the back of the lense. One is for Cd and the other for DVD. Usually there is written in white. Mark the original setup, then try to turn the preset clockwise a few degrees. Try the DVD.
