What percentage of the active U.S. military have tattoos? Is it greater than the average civilian population?

I have friends in the Marines, Army, & Air Force and they all have tattoos. Most of them, especially Marines, have tattoos to symbolize their time in active duty. So I would say the a high percentage of them do have tattoos, but I'm unsure if it is higher than civilian population. Their tattoos are usually not allowed to show, so they have to put them somewhere that they can be hidden.
