Well, with global warming, we won't need to burn *anything* to keep warm...;-D... More seriously, there are several countries around the world (e.g. China and Saudi Arabia) that own large amounts of dollar-denominated securities (essentially money that they loaned to the US government). Those countries will not want the dollar to decline too sharply as that will substantially reduce the value of those securities. I suspect the major economy countries throughout the world will work with the United States to limit the damage.

Thanks to the Bush Administration, the answer is "yes!" We are headed for an inflation and your grandchildren will be paying for it. What irony! Republicans are supposed to be interested in preventing inflation and protecting the dollar -- and look what they've given us!

No i dont think so, it wont be like Germany after WWI. Because the US dollar is falling so is the rest of the worlds economy. There is a huge fear of recession in the USA and the stock markets have crashed all over the world. I know in Canada overall lost 110 billion dollars by yesterdays stock market crash. If the USA doesnt do something quickly we will be in another depression, but it should not be bad enough we have to burn money.
