The best time to visit and travel in Northern California is almost anytime. Late spring and autumn are our favorites. Fog and cooler temps are common along the North Coast. Summer. If you are travelling on the coast you will encounter some but not heavy fog in the mornings with generally clear afternoons. If you are travelling inland, Clear Lake, Redding, Lake Shasta you are ensured clear roads and very warm sunny days.
