At the time of the accident, nobody was driving your car. Only the other driver was at fault. So, insurance should cover it just fine. This assumes that you are a registered, insured, legal driver. If you were illegal to be driving, then all damages are your fault, because you're breaking the law just being there. Also ... doesn't the insurance company require a police report to be filed, to make it official? Did that happen on the scene, or later?

Yes i am a registered owner and fully insured - I was not there at the scene but came back to find note on car and then boyfriend drove off. The insurance company have not asked for a police report. I did not call the police. The people who hit the car are gonna report it to the police because they saw my boyfriend drive off.. I am worried that i am not covered

ANYONE CAN DRIVE YOUR CAR . . . just dont let something on the securit camera show something you are not telling and you will be fine !
