  • It depends on the vehicle. On many cars, it isn't worth doing without a Hunter laser alignment system in your garage, especially on the front end. Of course, it also depends on whether you mean strut or shock. On a VW Golf, the rear shocks (torsion-beam rear suspension) are easilly replaced by un-doing three nuts and one bolt. My '90 Honda has double-wishbone on all four corners, so it's nearly as simple. If you are talking about merely replacing a set of MacPherson struts, then you MIGHT get by by marking certain alignment nuts/bolts EXACTLY as you took them off, assuming your vehicle was properly aligned to begin with. Which ones those are, well, read the Chiltons/Hayes manual. If not, life may (any probabaly will) be easier, though to what extent depends. For the record, I replaced the rear shocks on my '89 Golf in four hours with just two 17mm wrenches... in sub-zero temperatures.
  • how much money can i be charge for replacing a new strut?
