That wasn't exactly what he said. He was talking about making changes to the constitution that define marriage as only between a man and woman. He then went on to say... "I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again." But, to answer your question, yes it did piss me off. Anytime someone makes a comparison to such horrific acts as bestiality/pedophilia to homosexuality, it really gets under my skin. This guy's an idiot. No -- even if it were true -- pull anything out of context and it can sound idiotic. Huckabee has a lot of support, that's my greater concern -- he is simply one of many pulses in America. Don't get pissed off -- do something... work for the campaign that represents you -- you could help change the pulse of America.

As someone who works on a daily basis with abused teens, and has had to do MUCH research on the topic...how does that explain that the VAST majority of sexual abusers are heterosexual (some estimates are as high as 90% of abusers are heterosexual)? This is 2008 and this is sad, sexual abuse isn't even about sex anyways!!!

Yep. I never understood the logical connection. One could just as easily argue that since more men are convicted sex offenders, then men should be chemically castrated or given sex changes (not that I believe this, it's just meant to be an illustrative analogy). Pedophilia and bestiality are all forms of sex, so why couldn't a heterosexually active person be equally likely to engage in forms of deviant sexuality?

Zebulon: I believe you missed the intent of Mike Huckabee's comment if you were talking about his statement about gay marriage. Mike is saying that it is the legal precedent which once established makes plural marriage, underage marriage and other forms easier to also make legal.
