My rubber tree planet has grown well, but it has lost many of the bottom leaves. Can I cut off the top and re-root it? Can the plant grow more leaves and flourish again?

I think you can cut the top off and make another plant from it. However, my rubber plant kept losing it's leaves from the bottom until 2/3 were gone. After about a year, about 10 shoots have grown where the old leaves used to be, there are now about 5 leaves that have grown from each shoot. I think these can too can be cut off to make into new plants. -
