You could have an infection (conjunctivitis) which could be serious if left untreated. That's why your supposed to regularly remove and sterilise your non-disposable lenses, or discard your daily ones when it says to! Be careful of opticians, I have had experience of them hiring laymen from the jobcentre and passing them off as 'opticians'. One such failed to spot a)excess capillary growth due to excessive lens wearing b)allergic reaction to solution and c)imminent corneal ulcer, all of which were diagnosed immediately by the hospital eye doctor. ('Specsavers' by the way.) Don't wait to get that inflammation diagnosed - conjunctivitis can be irritating at best, very painful at the worst! It only takes a course of antibiotic drops to clear it up.

did you take out your contact? this happens to me all of the time because I don't take my contacts out when I'm supposed to. It will keep happening over and over if you keep wearing your contacts for too long. The only thing that will help it after it happens is to take the contact out, put some ice on your eye, get rest, and wear glasses for a few days.

You should go to the doctor immediately. This is serious. You can go blind because of the infection.

Even if there were home remedies i'd seriously suggest going straight to the doctor! Don't mess with your eyes man...
