    i use it on my elbow and knee..it may just be a placebo effect..but it seems to work for me...now thats not scientific.. but its fairly inexpensive, safe, and if it helps my mind, think im better...so be it

  • I'm yet to see any proof, although I've heard a lot of anecdotal evidence. It's quite plausible that relief is from a placebo effect, or pressure application.

    If anyone knows of some serious studies, please post post haste.

    It works as far as placebo, but that's all. There is no evidence that it works beyond that.

    Yes, magnetic theraphy really helps all types of ailments. Magnets consist of north and south poles. They are classified into strong, medium and low magnets.

    (1) Sensitive or small organs like the brain, heart and eyes should not be treated with strong magnets.
    (2) Pregnant women should be treated with weak magnet and kept away from the uterus.
    (3) During magnetic treatment metallic things like wrist-watches, etc should not be worn. This will absorb
    the magnetic waves.
    (4) While treating skin ailments, a cloth should be placed between the magnet and the skin.
    (5) A loose contact of the magnet with the body is sufficient and the magnet should be kept stationary.
    (6) Big and strong magnets should be used once daily for treatment. Small and week magnets can be worn
    continuously to the body with the help of a sticking plaster.
    (7) Opposite poles of strong magnets should not be brought too close to each other.
    (8) Homoeopathic drugs should not be kept in the vicinity of magnets because the latter cause changes in the
    potency of drugs.
    (9) During the treatment session, the patient should be in a seated position or lie down parallel to the
    earth's magnetic field, ie in the north-south direction. A wooden chair or a bed should be used.
    (10)Magnetic charged water when consumed along with the treatment will give tremendous results.

    The above points are some of the hints which when followed in magnetic treatment can yeild good results.

For serious disorders strong magnets are used and it is timed. Low magnets can be worn on the body for longer durations. Magnetic charged water works wonders in healing the human system of various disorders.
