If your hot rollers are made of plastic or metal you can buy a disenfectant called Barbacide. This is found at any beauty supply house. It will kill just about everything including the HIV virus. You need to delute it in water at a ratio of I believe 4-1. 1 being the Barbacide. Read the back for instructions. Soak the rollars for about 10 mins and rinse them with water. For the case, you can swish a little of the deluted solution around it and rinse. If your rollars are made of felt or a material you don't want to get wet, you can buy a spray cleaner in the same supply house. Stylist like me, use this on our scissors and clipper blades to disinfect between clients. A good one is made by Oyster. Because most hot rollers are just for personal use, a good soak in hot soapy water will probably be the best, just make sure you dry the case and rollers thoughly since the heating prongs are usually made of metal and you don't want them to rust. Also a good way to clean both rollers and the case is to spray them with your regular Lysol disenfecting spray. Sounds funny but if it kills virus causing germs on door knobs, the air, etc. it will work on your rollers, irons, and brushes as well. Do this only if these items are for your own personal use. Use the Barbacide and Oyster cleaner if the items were bought at a sale or if they were used on others. Sanitizing equipment not only protects you but also helps the longevity of the equipment.
