Question

Help answer this question below.

When I use my PlayStation 2 on my plasma TV, there are black bars on either side of the game. I've tried changing the screen setup ratios on the PlayStation, but it doesn't fix it. Is there another way to fit the image to the screen?

Make sure your PS2 is correctly connected with an RGB Cable.

Then make sure in the consoles setting, that the 16:9 screen aspect is correctly selected.

And then (depending on the TV) it should either automatically detect the 16:9 input, or you must set up the TV to either automatically detect screen aspect ratios or manually set the picture aspect to fullscreen.

However, even in Full Screen you will get (depending on the TV's size) a black border surrounding the picture, that is 1-2 cm wide.
