Help answer this question below.

I have excellent rental history. With this particular Apt Complex I have never been late. I will be late however Feb 1st without being able to pay again till second week of March. I will be able to pay all late fees and rent by then. Can I be

    Talk to your landlord about it before hand. Be honest and you'll be surprised how easy they will work with you (especially in this market).

    Go to your landlord now -- don't wait until the rent is late to talk to him. Explain your situation, and let him know that you truly want to stay there, and you will have the money by the second week in March. Also, point out your track record with him and your previous landlords. If you are laid off from your job , a letter from your employer explaining your re-call date would help. If not, bring anything you can to help your case (a doctor's note saying you'll be out of work for how long, a statment from your employer showing your likelihood of continuous employment, etc.)

    My advice, talk to your landlord about the situation. He may be willing to work with you. Late rent is better than an empty apartment not collecting any rent.
