it could very well be the best answer (considering the extent of the proplems). another possibility could be that you ran something over or bottomed out damaging any exposed wiring harness. That's a pretty wide array of problems. Try disconnecting the battery overnight and reconnecting it in the morning. As I understand it by doing so it resets the computer. When you run it the next day, with any luck, the problems will be gone (if it IS the computer). The truth is that you shouldn't even need to leave it disconnected overnight, maybe a half hour or so, but if you want to be sure that's what i'd do. You may find that the car runs rough the next day. Don't be alarmed. The computer will have to relearn timing and all that. it will get better quickly.

Nope. I am 100% certain it is a worn ignition switch. I and a few others have had the exact same symptom set and replacing the ignition switch worked in every case. The switch runs about $30 and I was getting estimates of 1.5 hours labor (though I replaced it myself in 3ish hours). I know this is too late to help you, but hopefully it'll help others going forward. If I hadn't found this answer on the web, I would probably have trashed the car. So, in gratitude I want to make sure the answer (and its a nice cheap fix) gets disseminated.
