My Toshiba Satellite notebook with Win 98SE won't recognize my Jump Drive. What could be wrong?

    This is because Windows 98SE does not have built in USB drivers.

    You will need to find some generic drivers for your jump drive.

    Windows 98SE does support USB, it was earlier versions of Windows 95 that didnt. The support was limited but before you go searching for some obscure driver I would check your hardware manager to see if your USB drivers are properly loaded or if there is a conflict.

    If you have been running Windows 98SE for a long time without reinstalling you might want to do that, when I ran Windows 98 I reinstalled the system every six months. It is good computing practices since Windows allows every app you install modify the system.
