This is one of the most violated, non-moving, traffic laws. many people take a chance on being stopped by the police. more people are being ticketed, because of laptop computers in police vehicles. running a license plate number only takes about 10 seconds and this includes all states.
Become legal and you don't have worry.
I lived in Fla forever and even to move to another city in that state you had 6 months to change lic to match address and I am in s.c. now and same rule

Note: if you are a student and live in another state, your drivers license and license plates are valid, as long as you are a student and the plates and drivers license are not expired.
