A bit astonishing, and a whole lot weird. I do not like any of his paintings. I prefer paintings that are as close as possible to a photogragh.
he is a genius
I have studied art history and went to art college, but for graphic design. I will go with weird. I never really found the appeal in cubism or surrealism. I'll give him points for going against the grain of what was popular in his time, but in the end, his work never stood out for me.
I think the one of Christ on the cross is very moving..the watch melting over a table I think is a bit odd but you know what it is you are seeing..most of the other stuff I've seen I would classify as bizarre, strange, unusual, interesting but not anything I would want to live with on a day-to-day basis.
Astonishing, for he was well ahead of his time and changed the art world that was becoming mundane and static at the time.
Both. One of my favourite artistic works ever is Picasso's Guernica painting. It's depressing and fascinating at the same time.
Both :)
Genius
